Commonly asked questions about our services

How do I know if my child needs speech therapy?

The best way to determine if your child needs speech therapy is by receiving a comprehensive speech and language assessment provided by a certified speech-language pathologist.  Contact us to discuss your concerns with a speech-language pathologist and determine if an assessment would be appropriate for your child.

How do I get started?

Fill out our contact form here, call, or text Yvonne at (682) 444-2259.  You may also email us at yvonne@trevinospeechtherapy.com.

Where do services take place?

We provide speech services in person at the office located at 1308 NW John Jones Dr. in Burleson Texas.  If it is too far to drive to the office, we offer online teletherapy services for residents of Texas. We have a limited number of spots for online teletherapy.  Call for more information about Teletherapy services.

Will you see my child in a group?

No.  We provide individualized 1:1 therapy which ensures your child will receive focused attention in a safe, nurturing environment that supports learning and communication skills.

Can you work with my child if they get speech at school?

Yes, absolutely.  Contact us for more information.

Does bilingual speech therapy mean you teach them Spanish?

No. When a bilingual child has a communication disorder, bilingual therapy therapy is provided.  It does not mean they are just learning a second language.  We do not "teach" Spanish during bilingual speech therapy.

However, due to many requests, I am currently developing a bilingual enrichment class for parents and children ages 2, 3, and 4.  These classes will focus on bilingual language development, tips and techniques to use when learning 2 languages - where to start, how to use the 2 languages, specific strategies depending on the level of bilingualism unique to each family, etc.

In these classes speech therapy is not provided. It will be a time for parents and children to learn together with the Bilingual speech pathologist providing education, techniques, and strategies to increase bilingual communication in the home environment.  More information to come!

If you are interested, want more information and would like to be on the waitlist, contact us!
